There's a new movie coming out called, "Run, Fat Boy, Run". It's about a man who tries to win back the love of his life by running the marathon. I wonder if there's a blog by that name out there somewhere.
Anyway, this boy had his two best runs since the marathon last night and tonight. Last night I got in 5.17 miles at a 12:10 pace. My last full split was at 11:44 and the .16 of a mile to end the run was done at a pace of 8:26. I can really turn it on when I see my driveway. One of the big differences in this run was music. I listened to music for the first time in months and it seemed to help.
Tonight I was hoping I could rock on to an even better time. I listen to a wide selection of music. The Beatles, Arlo Guthrie, Robin Lacy, Billy Joel, Train, U2, Vince Gill and some singers I won't admit listening to. I bet no one out there has heard of Robin Lacy. I went to school with Mike Hermann, who is in the band.
Anyway, tonight I dropped my pace down to 11:27 for 6.64 miles. Only four short walk breaks. It was how I remember running used to be. My last .64 miles was done at a pace of 10:51, just 19 seconds slower than the first mile pace.

I checked out the trailer on the movie -- that guy didn't look very fat to me!
Great run, Pat. I've been tuning up my running music lately, too.
What program do you use to load your run data in to? Doesn't look like the stuff my Garmin came with.
Happy Easter to you.
Yeah, that movie has potential to be funny. I've never been a big fan of that British sense of humor though, so I'll reserve final judgement until the movie has been viewed.
I want to see that movie. It looks like a great one. Nice run!
Hi Pat
Kust checking out Roland's blog and managed to find yours.
Hope all is well. I have been nursing injury myself but should be back on the mend now, Intentions are to get out this week.
I have a 5k planned for May and July and a 10k in June. Other than that, that's it for me I will just be spectating with Roland and being his cab driver to and from runs!
Hi Pat! I just saw the previews for the movie. I think I might have to actually go out to a theater to see it, instead of waiting for the DVD!
I hope you had a happy Easter!
Nice job with the runs. Sounds like you have recovered well. I hope you have a great Easter.
Looks like a great movie! Glad you are getting some runs in!
I want to see that movie, too! Nice job with your running, Pat. How's the knee holding up? I like your ecelectic taste in music. I recently found that my son-in-law shares my affinity for Arlo Guthrie's music, and now I see that you do, too!
I definitely need more suggestions so I can add some good running music to my ipod.
I checked and there is a blogger with that name but no entries.
Great job with the runs Pat
Looking good. Nice running. I'm glad you are getting back to your old self!
Now that's the Pat we know and love! I am so glad the running is getting back on track for you :)
You know, I have heard that title but not a lot of buzz about that movie. I would be interested to see if anyone gives it a decent review ... looks like a rental to me :)
Just dropping in to say hi Pat...I'm trying to get "re-started" running. 2008 has been a slow start of a year...you are a great encouragement...
Pat how do you map your runs? what do you use?
Cool graphs of your running route. Which program and GPS did you use? I have a Garmin 305, but have not checked if there is new or better software for it.
