I guess the weather was a bit on the cold and windy side in Boston and Phoenix too. Amy wore a jacket while we walked about a mile and then I went out and did 5 miles in 59:58. I wanted to break an hour and I barely did. My knee felt much better. All in all, a nice run in the cool Arizona evening air.
I've been doing a much better job of stretching before my run and standing in my cold pool after the run. I need to get better about stretching after too.

Glad your knee is feeling better. As a fellow runner with knee issues I know how bad it sucks when they hurt. I was not aware you were that big of a baseball fan. I watch from time to time but really enjoy sitting outside listening on the radio. Can this be the year for my Brewers? They usually start strong but peter out in the end. I just wanted to let you know that I feel the same about Pete Rose. He deserves the Hall of Fame without question.
Nice run!!! Glad you were able to enjoy the weather!
ah ... if you want to start an arguement amoung runners, mention stretching. I'm from the "never stretch cold muscles" camp. If you must stretch before a run, make sure you've got 10 to 15 minutes of slow running behind you to ensure the muscles are warmed up.
After hurting myself several times stretching on cold muscles, I finally moved my stretching routine to the night time before I go to bed.
Nice job. Glad that the knee is getting better.
