Carry your driver's license and they can contact the DMV in your state. They might be able to get your phone number with your address. Or you can buy a Road ID. It's a grea way to go. You'll have contact info right on your wrist, shoe or around your neck. But, maybe you don't want to carry any more junk on your runs.
I put my info on my Garmin.
It's not as pretty as a Road ID, but it has all the same info on something I wear already. I overlayed fictious numbers over my home number and my wife's cell phone. A Pos is my blood type. NKDA is for No Know Drug Allergies and I am an organ donor.
I used our brother labeling system to make the water resistant tape. My name and phone number has been on the back of my garmin for over a year, but I added all the rest today.

That's an excellent idea! I'm going to have to put all that info on the back of my garmin as well. Thanks for the tip.
Good idea. In addition, it won't interfere with a timing chip or your Garmin. :)
I wear a RoadID all the time. Mine is an ankle one (in pink of course) and it has a reflective strip and it is also a timing chip strap, so I attach my chip to it during races too and then I don't have the zip tie rubbing on me anywhere either.
That's a good idea with the Garmin. I have a Road ID and I carry my cell phone as well, that has all of my contact information in it. Best to have it and never need it than the other way around. Great post!
I'm never running in a strange city again! Road-ID also........
I just called 123-1234 and you weren't home. Bummer I had some money to give you.
Hey, now that's a nifty idea. Maybe I could try that with my Forerunner 205 as a backup to my Road ID.
So, if you overlayed fictitious numbers on those labels, what good are they to first responders. Haha!
(Next time you obscure your number, use 867-5309.)
j-mom, I just didn't want you calling my wife. She still thinks I run with a bunch of guys.
Great idea... but we all wanted to call your wife.
I somehow trust that either you or Lisa or Eileen will identify the body if I should ever fall over dead on a long run....but just in case you're in a mood, I have the shoe Road ID. It is always on my running shoes, so I dont leave home without it!
It even says "Pokey" on it too ;)
That's it.....I'm calling Amy right now..........
Great idea, Pat. I have a Road ID dog tag that I wear.
Interesting issue came up, though. My wife and I were in New Orleans and she suggested I carry her much lighter cell phone rather than my blackberry. Great idea, expect it wouldn't help much if I got knocked over by a keg of beer in the French Quarter and they call her cell phone number -- on me!
