I started my blogging mostly as a 'note to self' type of operation. I'm constantly amazed that others read it and I do appreciate your support. Today I changed the title of my blog to "Note To Self" since I do like to read over the old posts just to remind me of how far I've come. I hope you like the new name and photo. The photo has many of the things that motivate me to continue on.
Tonight I ran to the Desert Breeze lake and back. I went down a new street and got rewarded. There was a couple out washing their SUV. She was wearing her bikini and she looked like a runner. You know the kind that Runner's World puts on the cover. I tried to take a picture but the husband chased me off.
I ran 5.16 miles. If you look at the graph above (click on it to enlarge), you'll notice that I ran a 9:27 first mile. I need to do that three times in the upcoming race. That's gonna be quite the challenge. Then after the 2nd mile I posted negative splits the rest of the way out. It was a good nite for a run. After the run I spent some time in my pool. Swimming the length of the pool and practicing the things I learned on Javamom' s blog. On Sunday I spent some time lifting weights. So tonight was the 55th consecutive day of exercise.
Have you ever wondered how to run a 5k in 20 minutes. Now I know how.

First, I love your new header!! You are so fancy now! Can you make me one?
I won't be there this weekend. We have other stuff on the calender. You know how life gets in the way of running. :>)
I have no idea what that track is..I will be checking back for the answer!
That track is for real? That's pretty cool!
I was TOTALLY looking forward to a picture of bountiful bosoms. You'll have to work on that, Pat :P Maybe next time ;-)
Like the new look! I stopped in to grab your link for my blogroll and thought I had the wrong blog for a minute LOL
I like the new layout, but the old top picture was impressive too.
This past Sunday I was feeling a little lethargic and NBC was playing some of the Track and Field World Championship footage from the past week. Anyway they had the womens marathon on there, absolutely incredible! Those girls must have used that wikihow article on how to run a faster 5k, cause I swear at the half way they were averaging 6 minute miles. Very motivating stuff, a Kenyan won, big surprise.
The track reminds me of a race car track what with the parking/pit area in the center.
Pat sometines I wonder if you put these trivia's just for me. See I am the guy that "HAS" to figure it out, any way possible. So I will say it is the Track of the Phoenix Police Academy?
New header looks great.
Dan, you are correct. I keep forgetting to eliminate the coordinates at the bottom.
Nice 9:47 first mile. I think all that worrying you were doing a few months ago was just that...worrying.
I think you will do fine and just go for it.
Your new look is great! It screams Pat.
Love the new header. Great to think about all the things that motivate you. (Your crackberry? You are sick!)
That track is wild. Shouldn't have to watch out for cars when you're running on a track, though.
Do you think Dan needed the coordinates to figure that out?
Great job with the run. A very nice new header and blog title.
Best of luck with the marathon training. Just build up slowly and you should be fine.
Knew it was a parking lot but was oblivious that there were identifying coordinates in your pix ..... I catch on fast sometimes.
Love the header, very personalized.
Glad you found something/one to entertain yourself on your run.
Great header. I love it!
Wow. Is that all it takes to run a 20 minute 5K? I'll let you know how it works out as I'm running one tonight.
Also, I'm with Marcy - you're going to have to work harder to get us pictures of the bikini car washer.
Good title, I know that I need a few every now and then.
I like the title and picture and great idea - actually read and remember the stuff we right down so we don't make the same mistakes again next year this time.
