Dry Run

Tonight was a dry run for my virtual mile. It was late and instead of not doing a run at all, I went out to run a mile as fast as I could. My PR for the mile is 9:19 that I set in September of 2007, one year ago. I don't have the stamina that I did last year, so I knew I wasn't going to do any better. I started out running under a 9 minute pace. I knew that was going to last and I ended up bobbing up and down the 10 minute mark the rest of the run. My virtual mile will be later this week and I hope to do a mile run test more often.
The family ordered pizza tonight and a dozen hot wings for me. I must be getting too many carbs because I actually gained some weight the last three days. I am up to 229, a 3.5 pound gain.
Runners World has some great downloadable wallpaper. The scene from the Golden Gate bridge at the top of my blog is one of them. Of course, if you are not viewing this close to the time I wrote it, it could change.
